What day and time should I schedule?
I am available any day of the week except Sunday. We will find a day that works for us both, but make sure to book far enough in advance. Time of day can be tricky. I prefer to shoot during the hours closest to sunrise and sunset as these times provide the best natural light. But I am available at any time that works for you. On a side note, maternity sessions are best scheduled in the 7th or 8th month, when your baby bump will show but you can still move with some ease.
How far in advance should I schedule?
Because I tend to be scheduled out 4-6 weeks, sooner is better. The holidays are also an extra busy time of year, so be sure to schedule early to ensure a spot.
How do I schedule a newborn session?
The best time to schedule is before your delivery so I can pencil in your expected due date. Once baby has arrived, please contact me so we can schedule within the first 2 weeks. This is the best time to capture that infamous curling body and slumber we all love. The session itself is usually 2-3hrs give or take some. Please remember that I am patiently working on babies schedule as to ensure time for feedings, changing and mommy time.
Also, remember to have babies tummy nice and full and to loosen any clothing about a 1/2 hour before the session starts.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Rescheduling is not a problem, life happens...I know, I have a husband, 4 kids and 2 furry friends! There is a $125 non-refundable retainer due upon booking to hold your date so we can find a new one that works. If you would like to cancel and don't wish to reschedule, unfortunately, I cannot return your deposit.
Are gift certificates available for purchase?
Yes! The perfect gift can be given in any monetary value.
What should I expect at my session?
FUN! I want us to be relaxed and have fun! More importantly, I want to capture your personality, joy, love, and silliness.....everything life is about. Whether in your home or at the park, my goal is to bring out the best in you and your children, (I have been known to use bribery...) but I want them to be comfortable... so blankies and baby dolls are welcome. I know some great places and try to use natural light most of the time.
What do I wear?
The million dollar question...First and foremost, wear what makes you feel good and be comfortable! However, I can offer a few suggestions. Coordinate outfits, this does not mean everyone must be in khakis and a white shirt! Compliment each other by choosing colors that work well together. Bold colors, textures and patterns are great too, but try to avoid logos and loud graphics. Makeup is great too but keep it as natural as possible. And lastly, dressing for the season and location is important as well.
What about rain?
Good old nature can be so unpredictable. Should the weather choose not to cooperate, we can certainly reschedule for a different time....unless you want to jump in some puddles!
How soon can I see the photos?
Your photos will be displayed in a private online gallery approximately 2 weeks after our session. We will schedule an ordering session so I can help you choose the best products to suit your families needs.
What if I am unhappy?
My goal is to deliver photographs that you absolutely love. If you find you are unhappy, we will work to make it right.
Why should I order prints through you?
Plain and simple, quality. The print process can be a long and tedious job...but someone's gotta do it! I work with professional companies to make sure sizing and coloring is perfect. By ordering through me, I can ensure the best quality photos and products for you.
Can I order single digital files?
Yes, high res files can be purchased for $150 each. I do offer a Digital Session that would provide high-resolution files. Please refer to my Investment for Digital Session pricing.
Please feel free to contact me at any time if I can answer any other questions for you!
What exactly are media sharing files?
Media sharing files are designed for you to be able to share on social media! Low resolution does not = Low quality, and that is great news! The screen you are currently viewing can simply not use or display all of the pixels, it is just too big. For your convenience, I resize each photo. This enables you to be able to share via email or social media sites such as Facebook without losing quality.
